Located in Durand, Michigan, the National Railroad Memorial honors the men and women who gave their lives to the railroad industry.
The National Railroad Memorial, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, was established in 2010. Based in the historic Diamond District Park in the heart of Durand, it educates the public about the importance of railroad workers to our nation’s past, present, and future.
It includes monuments to those who contributed and dedicated their working life to the railroad industry and to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
The Memorial is accepting contributions for the design, construction, and endowment to sustain the operation of the memorial and memorial park. Railroads, rail unions, railroad associations, and all others are invited to support its work.
